The Rawle family and a commitment to excellence
Eleanor Rawle, owner of Watermark Farm in Oxford, PA, is a USDF Gold and Silver medalist and longtime breeder of Hanoverian and Westfalian warmbloods.
Here at Watermark Farm Ellie’s responsibilities include foaling out each spring, bringing along young horses, keeping the older horses in their routine, and teaching lessons and clinics.
Watermark Farm
William and Anne Rawle purchased the one hundred plus acres that comprise Watermark Farm in 1970. As the historic ruins of a yellow paper producing mill borders the south-eastern corner of the property, the name “Watermark” and the production of fine paper seemed appropriate. Ambitious plans were laid and the selection of high quality mares and exemplary performance stallions began in earnest. Both Anne and Bill had competed at a high level with great success over the years with various types of horses and wanted to produce high quality riding horses for themselves and their aquaintences.
Anne and Bill’s daughter, Ellie, has since taken over the farm’s operations and continues the tradition of excellence today.
